Only the metal side of the Precision Base Plate is meant to come in contact with the dies. The plastic side of the Precision Base Plate should not be used for cutting.

- Finally I can stop purchasing cutting plate So! Love this. The down side.....well...it the metal plate may dull the cut blades on the dies, but seriously I don't think it will happen unless that same die us used soooooo many times. I am happy with this plate. (Posted on 7/9/2015)
